Equity and Excellence
An ROE
three year action plan (2009-12) was finalized in spring 2009 by the steering
committee composed of DuPage educators and was shared with every school
district. The overarching goal of the plan is to ensure that all students
achieve their full potential within the thriving, global DuPage community.
ROE
staff has launched numerous seminars, academies and research studies to raise
awareness within the academic community regarding the ongoing challenge and
commitment to closing the achievement gap. Strategies for closing the
achievement gap include working with school and district based teams to
effectively identify challenges. Collaboratively, we identified and developed
over 50 research-based solutions that resulted in interventions in the following
areas:
-
English Language Learner Education
-
School Diversity
-
Student Motivation
-
Student-Staff Relationships
-
Hispanic and African-American Culture, Trends, and Issues
-
Minority Parent Involvement
-
Cultural Competence
-
